Pittsburgh Tween Photography
Over the years, I have been trying to find my niche in portrait photography. Since I picked up my camera, I have been photographing my daughters milestones. Now that she is 9, I notice her growing into a young lady and our conversations are becoming more serious. She is actually listening to my words of wisdom and I can see her pondering my words when I talk about my childhood experience.
The years between playful child and high school senior are extremely impressionable. These years are more important because their little minds are learning to see the world for what it is. Imagination slowly dwindles while emotions and self esteem take over.
I want to build my daughters confidence so she trusts her own decisions. I want her to know that she was born with gifts and talents that bring out the best of who she is. This is the true foundation of how she will experience her teens (and adulthood).
I want to capture the beauty that shines from within. I want to leave room for imagination but embrace her maturity. I realize that my photography niche is tweens. I truly love this age. My daughter has been my inspiration and now she is a reflection of me. I want nothing more than for her to see the beauty in everything, from being kind and sensitive towards others while being confident and determined in her values.
